Adopted by the City of Commerce, California, Javier Molina had an extensive 166-fight amateur boxing career, which started at the tender age of eight. Javier’s amateur record was an outstanding 153-13.

He was a three-time National Silver Gloves Champion; two-time Junior Golden Gloves champion; Junior Olympic National Champion; Bronze medalist at the Cadet World Championships; Gold medalist at the Eastern Trials; Gold medalist at the Olympic Trials; and, at age 18, the youngest member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team competing in Beijing.

In order to train for the Olympics in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Javier was forced to suspend his attendance in high school.

In earning his spot on the Olympic Team at the U.S. Olympic Trials, Javier had decision victories over his four opponents in the 141-pound division: Samuel Martinez (26-7); Jeremy Bryan (27-20); Dan O’Connor (18-10) and Danny Garcia (26-12). He lost by decision in the opening round of the Olympics to Bulgarian Boris Georgiev.

Javier – like his Olympic teammate Shawn Estrada - is managed by Bravo Management, headed by Arnulfo Bravo and Don Morandini and promoted by Goossen Tutor Promotions. His longtime trainer is Robert Luna.
